Expand description

Issue #32 (2026-05-22): where a picker’s file-opening outcome should land. <CR> uses Default; <C-s> / <C-v> / <C-t> override to a split / vsplit / new tab.

Defined in lattice_core::ui::pane (LM.0) so Effect::OpenInTarget can name the same canonical type; re-exported here so the picker’s accept vocabulary and every lattice_picker::OpenTarget call site are unchanged.

Only the file-targeting outcome arms (OpenFile, SwitchBuffer, JumpInBuffer, JumpToLocation) honor this. Non-file outcomes (commands, registers, snippets, LSP code actions) ignore it. Where a file-opening action should land the opened buffer.

<CR> uses Default (the host’s preference, typically the active pane). <C-s> / <C-v> / <C-t> override to a horizontal split, vertical split or new tab respectively.

Owned in lattice-core (alongside the pane geometry) so both the picker’s accept vocabulary (lattice_picker::OpenTarget re-exports this) and the grammar’s Effect::OpenInTarget payload reference one canonical type without lattice-grammar depending on lattice-picker (wrong layering direction). Moved here from lattice-picker when Effect::OpenInTarget landed (LM.0); the picker re-exports it so every existing lattice_picker::OpenTarget call site is untouched.

Variants§

§

Default

<CR> – host preference (active pane by default).

§

Split

<C-s> – open in a new horizontal split below.

§

VSplit

<C-v> – open in a new vertical split to the right.

§

Tab

<C-t> – open in a brand-new tab.
