pub enum EchoLevel {
Trace,
Debug,
Info,
Warn,
Error,
}Expand description
Severity tier for Effect::Echo. The host’s echo-area renderer maps
these to its own colour scheme.
msg-mode.1 (tracing bridge): the five variants mirror
tracing::Level exactly so App::set_message can route through
a single tracing::event! call without lossy conversion. Trace +
Debug are below the default Info filter so they don’t show
in the echo area today — they exist for subsystems that want
verbose records in *messages* (e.g. editor=trace, lsp=debug)
to surface without inventing a parallel severity scale.
Variants§
Trace
tracing::Level::TRACE; recorded, never echoed by default.
Debug
tracing::Level::DEBUG; recorded, never echoed by default.
Info
Ordinary feedback (“3 substitutions”).
Warn
Something the user should notice but that did not fail.
Error
A failed command (vim’s E… messages).
