FindKind

Enum FindKind

Source
pub enum FindKind {
    Forward,
    Backward,
    TillForward,
    TillBackward,
}
Expand description

f / F / t / T — which direction, and whether the target character is included.

VM.3c moved this down from lattice_host::action so ; and , can be MOTIONS. They have to be: vim composes them (d; repeats the last find under an operator) and VM.1’s derivation only mirrors motions into Visual, so as actions they were unreachable from a selection and from an operator both. The host re-exports this name, so no call site moved.

Variants§

§

Forward

f — forward to the next occurrence, landing ON it.

§

Backward

F — backward to the previous occurrence, landing ON it.

§

TillForward

t — forward, landing one byte BEFORE it.

§

TillBackward

T — backward, landing one byte AFTER it.

Implementations§

Source§

impl FindKind

Source

pub fn reversed(self) -> Self

The kind , repeats — this one, reversed. ; repeats self.

A method rather than a match at the two call sites, because the pairing is a property of the enum: adding a fifth variant should break here, once, rather than silently repeat in the wrong direction.
