IN.8b: what an external formatter run produced, carried back to the editor thread.
Separate from lattice_lsp::cache::FormatOutcome because the two
carry different things: LSP returns TextEdits in protocol
coordinates, while an external formatter returns a whole file that
has already been diffed into Edits. Squeezing one into the other
would mean converting a diff back into LSP shape for no reason.
Variants§
Edits(Vec<Edit>)
Minimal edits, bottom-up. Empty means the formatter agreed with the buffer.
Failed(String)
The run failed in a way the user should see (non-zero exit, timeout, invalid UTF-8).
Skipped(String)
Nothing ran, and that is unremarkable – no formatter is configured for this language, or the tool is not installed.
