InlayHintRow

Struct InlayHintRow

Source
pub struct InlayHintRow {
    pub line: u32,
    pub byte: u32,
    pub text: String,
    pub style: Style,
}
Expand description

One inlay-hint row published on SyntaxRenderState::inlay_hints.

Perf plan A.2 slice A.2b.1. Caller flattens the LSP InlayHintLabel to a plain string and pre-applies padding_left / padding_right spacing; consumers splice text into shaped lines at byte (utf-8 byte offset into the original line’s text) without further label processing.

The renderer-side type (lattice_ui_gpui::editor_element::InlayHintRow) is a re-export of this struct so the two peers exchange the same shape across the published RenderState.

Sort order is the publisher’s responsibility — A.2b.1 publishes in the same order the LSP cache stores hints (insertion order); the worker re-sorts by (line, byte) during its row-weave pass.

Fields§

§line: u32

0-based buffer-line index.

§byte: u32

0-based utf-8 byte offset into that line’s text.

§text: String

Pre-flattened label with padding_left / padding_right applied.

§style: Style

How to paint it.

DL.3a: inlay runs used to be forced to a hardcoded Color::Named(DarkGray) regardless of anything, so every producer got one colour and the registered inlay.hint theme element was bypassed. lattice_cells::Style::InlayHint is the default and reproduces LSP hints’ appearance through the theme; a producer that owns its own vocabulary passes lattice_cells::Style::Element instead.
