pub enum ModeKind {
Major,
Minor,
}Expand description
Major / minor distinction. A buffer has exactly one major and any number of minors active simultaneously (mode-architecture.md §3).
Variants§
Major
Content-type identity (rust-mode, help-mode). Exactly one per
buffer; activating another replaces it. Chosen by the host’s major
resolver (Mode::target_buffer_kind, Mode::target_language,
Mode::presents_extensions), never by an ActivationPolicy.
Minor
Additive behaviour layered over the major (line-numbers-mode,
table-mode). Any number per buffer, kept in activation order;
auto-activated per Mode::activation_policy or pulled in by
another mode’s Mode::implies.
